True Spirituality is about Knowing Truth Beyond Belief

Opening and Unifying Hearts and Minds

Dearest Friends,

As we move through this era of seemingly self divisive forces of egoic mind, which innocently uses any means to sustain the illusion of separation, religion appears to have lost its original purpose of unifying humanity by blindly believing unworthiness, conflict, and fear, is somehow True Spirituality. I am here to point out that Religion and True Spirituality are not the same. Offered below is the video “Samadhi” that I feel accurately portrays Humanity’s present state of consciousness. And, although spoken from an Eastern and Buddha-based perspective, this film has arisen from a dimension of consciousness that I call non religious True Spirituality.

Discerning Religion and True Spirituality

Let us consider understanding or discerning the difference between religion and true spirituality like this: Religion is based upon mental limitations as concepts, beliefs, and identities which are limited to the Psychological Realm of human existence; and, does NOT encourage realizing your inherent conscious clarity through direct experience beyond those mental constructs. Whereas, True Spirituality is life liberating, thus transcending ALL self imprisoning mental qualities of mind by becoming intimate with your direct experience; thus illuminating awareness that every being is not separate from source essence of existence. In other words using religious language, True Spirituality suggests everyone is God expressing in a uniquely divine manner beyond the veils of religious concepts and illusion of separation. And, relies on your experience to realize the truth of you versus being told what to believe you are.

“Many people think that it is the function of a spiritual teaching to provide answers to life’s biggest questions, but actually the opposite is true. The primary task of any good spiritual teaching is not to answer your questions, but to question your answers. For it is your conscious and unconscious assumptions and beliefs that distort your perception and cause you to see separation and division where there is actually only unity and completeness.”

Movie: Samadhi - Part One "Maya, the Illusion of self"

This movie is one of the best films ever made in our contemporary existence pointing towards the practical aspects leading to suffering, conflict, and violence in the world; all of which arising from the core illusion that every being is somehow a separate self, apart from the whole of existence. Blending amazing imagery and ancient and modern wisdom, this film offers the most amazing insights into understanding the ongoing self defeating nature of the human condition. Spirituality beyond Belief by Adyashanti

The deepest form of spirituality is something we engage in, not something we simply believe in. What is worth orienting a life around? If we never contemplate these kinds of questions, then our life tends to be dictated by outward experiences. Adyashanti invites you to look past your beliefs to within your own experience and discover what values are deeply meaningful to you.
