The PPU Think Tank
Restoring Power and Trust in Civic Life
Restoring power and trust back to We, The People, through innovation, technology and open-mindedness.
What is the PPU Think Tank?
The PPU Think Tank is Peace President United’s space for exploring, developing, and testing practical ideas that can help turn vision into real-world possibility that consciously enhances wellbeing. At its heart is one guiding question: How can we restore meaningful power — within ourselves, among one another, and across the systems that shape our lives?
What Do We Mean by Power?
When we speak of restoring power back to the people, we are not speaking only about government, elections, or political influence. We are speaking about something much more fundamental.
Power begins within us.
It is our capacity to think for ourselves, to know what matters to us, to make conscious choices, to speak honestly, to participate meaningfully in our own lives, and to recognize that we are not as powerless as we may sometimes believe ourselves to be.
And when individually empowered human beings begin cooperating with one another, another kind of power becomes possible: collective power.
Collective power, in this sense, is civic-minded power focused on the wellbeing of everyone and our shared Earth home.
Not power over others. Not domination or control.
But the shared capacity to solve problems, improve our communities, restore and foster friendships, influence government and the systems that affect our lives, support one another, and participate more directly in shaping our collective future.
This is the kind of power the PPU Think Tank is interested in exploring.
What We are Actively Exploring?
The PPU Think Tank begins with questions — especially the kinds of questions that invite us to look again at things we may have come to accept as fixed. Some of those questions concern the way we organize society. Others concern technology, economics, energy, human wellbeing, communication, or the systems we depend upon every day.
We are not interested in promoting speculation simply because an idea is unusual. We are interested in asking whether an idea can be examined, modeled, tested, refined, and, when appropriate, turned into something practical in service of overall wellbeing.
Rethinking the Relationship and Rebalancing the Power Between Citizens and Government
What might become possible if citizens had more direct, continuous, and meaningful ways to communicate what they are experiencing, thinking, and needing — while public leaders had more honest, effective, and accountable ways to listen and understand?
Could technology help create a healthier relationship between the people and those entrusted to serve them — and help restore a more meaningful balance of power between citizens and those entrusted to govern?
This is one area in which the PPU Think Tank has already moved beyond discussion and into active development.

Exploring the Possibility of Direct Power
What might become possible if citizens could use technology not only to communicate with government, but to organize their collective strength in practical, constructive ways?
Through genuine civic participation, large numbers of people could potentially identify shared concerns, express common interests, and coordinate action directly — not solely through media interpretation, political institutions, corporate influence, or other intermediaries.
What if the people themselves could exercise greater direct power?
Not power over others. Not disruption for its own sake. But the collective ability to negotiate, cooperate, support one another, influence the systems that affect our lives, and pursue practical solutions together.
Imagine the possibilities if thousands — or even millions — of willing citizens could voluntarily bring their collective economic, civic, and social strength to bear on a shared concern or those in public service.
This is another area the PPU Think Tank is exploring and actively developing.
How might technology help transform individual voices into constructive collective power?
Exploring New Possibilities in Energy
We are also interested in questions that reach beyond civic life.
What assumptions about energy production, conversion, conservation, and reuse are worth examining again? Could existing scientific principles and established technologies be combined or modeled in ways that reveal possibilities we have overlooked?
One area we are actively researching and exploring involves the relationship between electrolysis, energy conversion, water systems, and mechanical generation, while remaining grounded in the fundamental laws of physics, including conservation of mass and energy.
We do not begin with the assumption that an idea must work.
We begin with the willingness to ask the question — and then follow the evidence wherever it leads.
Ideas Are Only the Beginning
A Think Tank is a place where imagination and disciplined, honest inquiry meet.
Some ideas will prove impractical. Some will lead somewhere unexpected. Others may become prototypes, systems, partnerships, or entirely new ways of approaching familiar challenges and problems.
That is part of the process.
Question. Explore. Model. Test. Measure. Learn. Build. Refine.
This is how possibility becomes conscious progress.
