Renewable Energy Resources
There is a limitless supply of energy in the universe and it is up to us to cooperate with each other and lovingly embrace our collective intelligence for the greater good - not merely for profit.
Renewable Energy and the Future of Human Civilization *
“It is time to choose wisely. Until sustainable energy becomes a living reality, then we will continue fighting over our limited resources and maintain a world of conflict in which our children are born. Let us refocus our attention and mental resources toward energy solutions in the same manner we developed the nuclear bomb. It can be done yet we must consciously choose the path of creation and sustainability not division and destruction. That is the way.” – Peace President
Did You Know?
Nuclear fusion, although not technically renewable source of energy, generates much of today’s energy, and is the same basic process that powers the Sun. And has the potential to become one of the most energy-dense and remarkably clean sources of power humanity has ever discovered and refined. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, just 1 gram of deuterium-tritium fusion fuel could release about as much energy as 2,400 gallons of oil. ITER estimates that, by mass, fusion can release nearly four million times more energy than burning fossil fuels.
Fusion itself produces no carbon dioxide during the fusion reaction, and its primary reaction products are helium and energetic neutrons. Deuterium can be extracted from water and is extraordinarily abundant, while tritium could potentially be bred from lithium inside future fusion power plants.
The extraordinary promise is that fusion could eventually provide vast amounts of reliable energy from very small quantities of fuel, with far less long-lived radioactive waste than conventional nuclear fission. The important qualifier is eventually: scientists and engineers are still working through major technological challenges before fusion can become a practical commercial source of electricity.
What is Energy, Really?
This short and humorous video offers a surprisingly informative introduction to one of the most fundamental forces shaping our lives: energy. In less than five minutes, it breaks down what energy actually is, how it moves and changes form, and why it matters to everything from our bodies to the technologies we use every day. It is a fun and accessible starting point before exploring the much bigger conversation around renewable energy, sustainability, and the future of how humanity powers the world.
Renewable Energy Is No Longer a Future Possibility
Completely renewable energy, in contrast to nuclear, is no longer merely a vision for some distant future. Around the world, solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal energy, battery storage, and other emerging technologies are already becoming an increasingly important part of how humanity produces, stores, and distributes energy.
What was once considered experimental or impractical is steadily becoming part of everyday life. Solar panels now power homes, businesses, and large utility systems. Wind turbines generate electricity across entire regions. Hydroelectric and geothermal resources continue providing dependable energy in many parts of the world, while rapid advances in battery storage are making it increasingly possible to capture renewable energy and use it when the sun is not shining or the wind is not blowing.
Perhaps the larger question is no longer whether humanity can create cleaner and more sustainable energy systems, but how consciously, responsibly, and creatively we choose to develop them. Every technology brings its own benefits, limitations, environmental considerations, and practical challenges. The opportunity before us is therefore not simply to replace one energy source with another, but to explore an increasingly diverse and regenerative energy future — one that supports human flourishing while respecting the extraordinary living planet we all share.
The transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy is already underway. Around the world, advances in solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal energy, battery storage, grid technology, and other emerging systems are changing what is possible. The following video offer an accessible look at renewable energy today, how these technologies work together.
Understanding the Political Impacts of the Race for Renewable Energy
In this eye-opening video, we dive into the hidden geopolitical and security risks of the global shift toward renewable energy. While a climate-safe future is absolutely necessary for peace, the transition to green technology might not be as peaceful as we think. The race for decarbonization is driving an unprecedented demand for critical minerals like lithium, cobalt, nickel, and rare earth elements—creating a highly competitive global race for resources.Historically, major shifts in energy sources always rewrite the global balance of power, just as coal did for the UK and oil did for the United States. Today, the world faces a massive blind spot: our “clean” future is incredibly material-intensive. An electric car requires six times more mineral inputs than a conventional vehicle, and global production for certain minerals is projected to skyrocket by 500% by 2050.
The Missing Piece: Storage, Grids & Energy Resilience
Battery storage, modernized electrical grids, distributed energy systems, microgrids, and other emerging technologies are becoming increasingly important pieces of this transition. Together, they can help reduce waste, strengthen reliability, support local communities during outages, and make renewable energy more practical at a much larger scale.

Exploring Emerging Energy Possibilities with Gregg Braden
In this thought-provoking presentation, Gregg Braden explores the limitations of many of our present energy systems while inviting us to consider emerging possibilities for creating cleaner, safer, and more sustainable sources of power. His discussion moves from conventional and advanced nuclear technologies into more speculative ideas about the quantum vacuum and the possibility that future scientific breakthroughs may reveal entirely new ways of understanding and accessing energy.
